ASB Week
During the National week of awareness, we have been sharing a number of posts both offering residents advice and support on the types of ASB, as well as who to report to; in addition to showcasing just some of the work local teams across your town conduct daily to help keep communities safe.
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is defined as 'behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person', but what does ASB mean?
We class ASB into three main categories depending on how many people are affected, for example ‘personal antisocial behaviour’, which is when a person targets a specific individual or group, other types include, ‘nuisance antisocial behaviour’ for example when a person causes trouble, annoyance or suffering to a community, and lastly, ‘environmental antisocial behaviour’, this is when a person’s actions affect the wider environment, such as public spaces or buildings.

Shop Kind Please, Shop Kind.
On average, 1,300 violent or abusive incidents occur in the retail sector every single day.
No one deserves to face this level of abuse - especially when simply doing their job.
Shop Kind aims to unite the retail sector to tackle violence and abuse against shopworkers by asking people to shop kind when in stores.
Sussex Police work with retailers all year round to help combat these issues. We aim to encourage positive behaviour in stores and acknowledge the essential role of shopworkers.
