Arrests

Last week, officers made 13 arrests across Wealden.

6 of those arrests were for assault in Hailsham, Willingdon, Polegate, Maresfield, Crowborough and Forest Row.

2 drivers were arrested in Uckfield and Alciston, one for drink driving and one for drug driving.

Other offences included breaking bail conditions and failing to appear at court.

PCSO's Jackson and Choppin attended a staff meeting at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Hailsham this week to give a talk on all things fraud and scams!

We gave them an insight into a huge range of scams that are currently circulating. We also shared hints and tips on how to protect yourself, and what to do should you think you or someone you know has been scammed.

The advice we gave meant that they can further support their customers if they have any concerns about reporting, with any reports remaining confidential.

We're supporting Counter Terrorism Policing’s Summer campaign.

The campaign aimed at encouraging music fans to tell security if they see something that doesn’t feel right.

Over the years, #BeSafeBeSound has reached millions of people.

It has been supported by major festivals and venues including Glastonbury, The O2, Leeds & Reading Festival, TRNSMT, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Creamfields, Utilita Arena, Wembley Arena, and many more.

We want music fans to stay safe and have a great time, we also want to reassure and empower festival goers to trust their instincts.

See or hear anything that doesn't seem right, tell festival staff, security, or the Police at the time.

Priorities in your area…

Yesterday saw us out and about in Heathfield!

PCSO Thompson and PCSO Tay were on foot patrol around the town. From the High Street and surrounds, to the skate park and Cuckoo Trail - it was great to catch up with residents (and pets!) about community concerns.

Routine patrols help us to identify community priorities - with our current priorities in Heathfield being business crime and anti-social behaviour.
