With the warmer weather, you may choose Camber beach as the beach to visit this summer. Camber is very popular and often has over 20,000 visitors a day with limited car parking spaces and amenities. On these days the roads leading into Camber become congested very quickly with up to a 4 hour wait in traffic, which means you’re more likely to be sitting in a hot car than on a hot beach. Please remember – 🥛 Take plenty of water with you in case you get stuck in traffic. 📱 Plan ahead for your trip to the beach. Download the FREE Beach Check UK app, and you’ll be able to view congested areas and avoid getting stuck in traffic or missing out on your day to the beach. 🚩 Stick to walking on dry, compact sand. As soon as you feel it start to become soft, turn around and retrace your steps. 🗄️ please take your rubbish home with you when out visiting our beautiful beaches and green spaces If you’re in trouble in the water, remember #FloatToLive. Lean back and use your arms and legs to help you float (like a starfish). #RespectTheWater For more information regarding local news and updates, please follow Rother Police on Facebook.

![]() We observed a male riding an e-scooter along London Road. Upon noticing us, he mounted the pavement and performed a U-turn in an apparent attempt to avoid us. Officers were able to stop the rider, and the e-scooter was subsequently seized. We would like to remind the public that, as of 2025, it remains illegal to use privately owned e-scooters on public roads, pavements, and cycle lanes anywhere in the UK, unless they are part of a government-approved rental trial. Riders found using e-scooters illegally risk having their vehicles seized and may face further enforcement action.
Advice for e-scooter users: E-scooters are classed as motor vehicles under the Road Traffic Act 1988. This means they must meet the same legal requirements as other motor vehicles, including: Currently, it is not possible to obtain insurance for privately owned e-scooters, which makes their use on public roads or spaces illegal. Our priority is public safety, and we continue to take action to ensure all road users comply with the law. Note: This legislation does not apply to electric bicycles, which are subject to different regulations.
![]() On Friday afternoon, we attended Ark Blacklands Primary Academy following multiple reports of inconsiderate and unsafe parking in the area. Our presence was welcomed by school staff, parents, and local residents, who expressed appreciation for the support in addressing ongoing concerns. During the visit, several drivers were spoken to and reminded of the importance of adhering to parking regulations, particularly in relation to restricted zones and blocking residential driveways. These conversations served as an opportunity to educate and encourage safer, more respectful parking practices. We are committed to ensuring the safety of children and the wider community around school sites. As such, further visits to schools across Hastings are planned, during which enforcement action will be taken where necessary. Help us keep Sussex safe
