Preston Park's May Ward Update

Preston Park Monthly Ward update – PCSO Rob Bartholomew 39789

Ward Update

Currently, some key concerns in the area include:

  • Youth anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Preston Park
  • Speeding on Reigate Road and Dyke Road
  •

In response to these issues, I am increasing patrols and presence within Preston Park and plan to take the Speed Indicator Device out to Reigate Road and Dyke Road.

Please continue to report any issues to us online or via 101 as this will inform our policing priorities and ensure these issues get the attention they need.

    Community Meetings & Ward Days

  • I am planning a ward day for Saturday the 31st of May, when I will be around the park all day. Please do come and find me!
  • I am keen to get involved with any community meetings or visits. I can attend nursery schools, schools, community centres, community meetings or meet with local businesses. Pease don’t hesitate to contact me. You can do this by contacting 101 and quoting PCSO Bartholomew 39789. We can then get something arranged!

    Incidents of Note / AOB

We have been finding more lost dogs without their owners in recent weeks, please ensure you are staying aware of where your dog is and keep your dog on a lead where necessary.

Welcome to May, where the sun has been staying out to play longer than we’re used to, BBQ’s are being dusted off and someone in the street is mowing their grass every weekend like it’s a competitive sport.

May is definitely an overachiever in the calendar, bringing with it two bank holidays, warmer evenings, enough sunshine to make us forget how chaotic the winter was and the globally known ‘Star Wars day’, where it’s okay to run around the house in a dressing gown wielding a mop as a lightsaber.

So, enjoy your long weekends gardening, sunbathing or binge-watching the entire Star Wars Saga and don’t worry about burning those sausages on the BBQ, as a wise man once said ‘The greatest teacher, failure is’.

Stay sunny, stay strong and may the force be with you.
