Arrests

Last week (15th - 21st) saw a total of 22 arrests made across Wealden.

- 5 arrests were made in total for criminal damage across Stone Cross, Crowborough, Lower Willingdon and Horam.

- We arrested 4 people for assault in Lower Willingdon, Heathfield, Hailsham and Uckfield.

- 2 individuals were arrested in Uckfield for robbery.

- We also arrested 3 people in Maresfield: one for assault against an emergency worker, one for drink-driving, and one for obstructing an officer.

Other offences included driving a motor vehicle dangerously, possession of class A drugs, and driving while over the drug limit.
 

New Bleed Kit Installation

On Wednesday this week, PCSO Choppin and PCSO Brashill joined Nathan Dunbar from the Polegate Community Foundation to officially launch yet another bleed kit installed in Wealden.

Located at St Lukes Church in Stone Cross, this bleed kit is the fourth to be installed by the Polegate Community Foundation.

Bleed Kits are specifically designed to handle ‘life threatening bleeding’. In the event of a traumatic injury, a person can lose critical amounts of blood within minutes.

What should you do in an emergency? 1) Ensure ambulance has been requested 2) Find your nearest bleed control cabinet 3) Call 999 Ask for Sussex Police 4) State location and ask for code.

Op Notify 

As I'm sure you've all seen - this week sees the launch of our new operation: Op Notify.

Anti-social behaviour is an ongoing concern across various parts of Wealden, and is something our officers work hard to tackle and deter on a daily basis.

Op Notify is a Wealden initiative that will see dedicated patrols at dedicated times across the district, launching this week!

During these set patrols, there will be a mobile number available for the public to call us, enabling quick and direct reporting of anti-social behaviour.

This weeks patrol details are as followed:

Friday 26th July South Wealden 15:00-23:00.

Saturday 27th July North Wealden 15:00-23:00

Community engagement 

Last week, PCSO Jackson visited the pop up shop for The Good Company People in Crowborough high street.

The Good Company People get to know what hobbies people enjoy, and assist in sign-posting them to one of their many activities and clubs.

They introduce people with others, who are facing similar situations, to help individuals navigate the health and social system and so much more.

They're doing some great work for the community, we highly recommend paying them a visit!
