“Most importantly, I want my son growing up in a safe community. By volunteering, I will contribute to making people feel safe in streets. I want to protect those who need it most."
Those are the words from Special Constable Simona Ferreria, one of the 11 new recruits at the weekend's attestation ceremony.

With the colder weather coming in quick, we are advising the public to check that their electric blankets are safe and in good condition prior to being used.
PCSO Choppin spent some time at the Hailsham Community Fire Station last week to offer electric blanket testing to members of the public, and to provide safety advice and tips.
For further advice on how to use your electric blanket safety, please read here http://spkl.io/6185frWQb Village Patrols
PCSO Davidson has been out and about this week on foot patrol across some of the district's smaller, rural areas - such as Folkington, Alfriston, Selmeston, Chalvington and Laughton.
It's important to us that we provide presence across all areas and communities, speaking to members of the public throughout our smaller villages as well as the bigger towns.
